Beautiful basic shields, by Eddie Geoghegan. They are wihout superfluous, false trimmings, and should be considered more ancient and possibly applicable to minor septs of a major clan.
Eddie Geoghegan's Sitewww.heraldry.ws/index.html
These basic ancient shields often apply to related septs. For example all Sil Murry are given the basic O'Conor shield without embellishment, as Finerty of Hy Maine is given the O'Kelly basic shield.
